The Role at a Glance:

This position is primarily responsible for the hands-on monitoring of processes and product to ensure compliance with the Company quality programs, including HACCP, SQF, SOP’s and Good Manufacturing Practices. This position reports to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.

How You’ll Create Greater Impact:

In this role, you’ll help deliver the highest quality product while upholding our unwavering commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and responsible farming. You’ll act boldly, embrace continuous improvement, and partner with teammates and customers to deliver wins.

  • Monitor and verify compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP).
  • Perform and document plant inspections per Pre-Operative Sanitation Checklist, recording any noted deficiencies and partnering with Sanitation and / or USDA grader for resolution.
  • Inspect eggs for quality, including size, weight, and shell integrity for organic and free-range limited grade, pack lane, and case out samples.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of eggs.
  • Document and report samples exceeding quality threshold limits and work together with operations to resolve quality deviation.
  • Verify and calibrate testing equipment ensuring proper maintenance and care.
  • Verify and monitor chemical concentrations through routine testing and inspection.
  • Assist with chemical inventory, SDS management, and chemical training.
  • Perform routine facility inspections (GMP, Post-op, etc.) working with production and sanitation teams to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Support general food safety and quality training for all staff and facility training for junior staff members on quality job specific responsibilities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of SQF code and participate in Internal Audits for continuous improvement of SQF Program.
  • Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements and process efficiencies
  • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Thorough and accurate completion of paperwork and reports, ensuring retention of all records
  • Support operations and assist co-workers as needed
  • All issues or non-conformances related to food safety or quality assurance must immediately be reported to the FSQA Manager or designated supervisor for investigation, product disposition, containment, and corrective action. All food safety, regulatory, or significant quality concerns are escalated to the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance for further communication with senior leadership.

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree in food science or related field preferred.
  • Experience in quality control, food production, or egg processing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and data entry.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to work as team and achieve company goals
  • Must be able to provide clear and concise communication
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to pass a color vision test (required for identifying egg quality and grading)
  • Tasks require standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing
  • Tasks require use of hand and arms, reaching and repetitive motion
  • Must be able to work extended hours and a flexible schedule on short notice

Work Schedule & Hours:

  • Day shift position
  • Monday through Friday
  • Shifts up to 8 - 12 hours per day, based on operational needs
  • Typical start time: 6:30 AM
  • Start and end times may vary due to truck arrivals, order fulfillment, machine downtime, or production changes
  • Flexibility required to adjust schedule as needed
