Job Title: Nepalese and Indian Cook (2 Positions)

Location: Indreni Nepalese and Indian Cuisine, 887 Manukau Road, Royal Oak, Auckland
Position Type: Permanent - Ongoing
Hours of Work: Full time, Minimum 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (Rostered Shifts)
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Description

We are seeking two experienced and dedicated Nepalese and Indian Cooks to join our team at Indreni Nepalese and Indian Cuisine. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Indian, Indo-Chinese, or Nepalese cooking and be passionate about delivering authentic and high-quality food.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Indian, Indo-Chinese, or Nepalese cuisine.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain hygiene standards of the kitchen and restaurant in accordance with health regulations.
• Prepare kitchen stock and ingredients daily.
• Cook and present meals to a high standard using authentic techniques and spices.
• Assist senior chefs in following the first-in, first-out food rotation system.
• Ensure all food items are properly labeled, dated, and stored for quality control.
• Maintain an organized and clean cooking station, especially during peak hours.
• Work closely with the head chef to maintain overall kitchen efficiency.
• Follow the restaurant's food control plan strictly.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the director, head chef, or duty manager.
• Mentor and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation and plating.
• Be flexible and ready to work in any kitchen section as required.
