Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The Faculty of Science is seeking 2 x motivated, organised and computer-savvy administrator for a full-time role supporting teaching activities in the School of Psychology and the School of Environment.
What is Group Services?
Group Services is indispensable in making sure day-to-day operations are moving forward at the University. We are both student and staff facing, and this role, Group Services Administrator is the key link, providing administration support to our academic teaching staff to ensure they have everything they need to deliver to their students.
The position includes anything from data entry to taking meeting minutes to procurement. We are often the ‘go-to’ or ‘subject matter experts’ so our organisation and people skills need to be second to none.
About the Role
- Provide general administrative support to academic teaching staff
- Support and liaise with academic staff to ensure process outcomes are delivered
- Provide assessment and examination administration, and other activities focused around back-office teaching support and course administration.
- And a huge variety of other tasks!
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.
Remuneration is between $55,500 - $63,900 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

Our ideal candidate will bring the following:
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a busy workload
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment or admin role with a deadline focus
- You will be a “people person” and will not be afraid to ask questions or follow up with stakeholders
- You will be tech-savvy and a confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi
