Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

With approximately 700 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. DIS is proud to be one of the few schools globally to offer both the IB's Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diploma programs in a variety of languages. In addition to English and French, other languages currently taught in the school are Spanish, German and Mandarin Chinese.

The school offers a rigorous curriculum integrating the best practices of French and American education. Upon completion of the French Baccalaureate or the IB Diploma program, our students go to college in the United States or internationally in countries such as France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain or Australia, among others.

We are currently seeking an Inclusive Education teacher at our lower campus. Priority will be given to candidates who are certified. At least 3 years of experience as an English teacher are necessary.


Job duties
include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work in the specific professional context of an inclusive education program
    • Contribute to an inclusive school project by operating within the Inclusive Education Department of the DIS.
    • Design pedagogical support actions for students with special educational needs in coordination with all classes in the school.
    • Collaborate with other teachers to develop accessible teaching materials and co-teach in classes as part of inclusive practices.
    • Support teachers in implementing learning accessibility within the framework of current programs and the common core of knowledge, skills, and culture.
    • Engage in a cooperative approach with various stakeholders and partners.
    • Organize actions with members of the educational community for the instruction and support of students with special educational needs.
  • Exercise a role as an expert in the analysis of special educational needs and the development of appropriate responses
    • Prevention of learning difficulties.
    • Methods and tools for adapted assessment.
    • Definition of personalized and explicit learning strategies.
    • Adaptation (learning situations, materials, assessment).
    • Participation in the drafting of Learning Profiles for successful pathways.
  • Serve as a resource person for inclusive education in various situations
    • Dissemination of ethical and societal issues related to inclusive education.
    • Advice and pedagogical responses in the context of inclusive education.
    • Cooperation – Partnership.
    • Relations with families & associations in the training process.
    • Sensitization, information, and training actions (inclusive education).
    • Prevention of difficulties in students with particular vulnerabilities.


Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of teaching in English, Special Education, Gifted & Talented or a related subject area at the required grade levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and valid teaching certification.
  • The flexibility in attitude and teaching styles associated with a private school education.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, English, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of teaching in English, Special Education, Gifted & Talented or a related subject area at the required grade levels.
  • Familiarity with educational technology such as interactive boards and multimedia instruments.
  • Bilingual French language skills are preferred.
