Contract: Full time: Monday to Friday (8 hour shift)

Hours of Work: 40 hours (between 8.00 am to 5.00 pm)

(occasional overtime if necessary, as per business need)

Salary Band: €33,000+, depending on experience

Reports to: General Manager – Andrew Thompson

Summary of Role

The 2D Drawing Technician is responsible for producing accurate and detailed 2D shop drawings for precast concrete elements in support of manufacturing and construction activities. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams, the role ensures drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements. The position plays a key role in coordinating design information, incorporating revisions, and supporting efficient precast production within our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· To create detailed AutoCAD/AutoFloor drawings of floors, stairs and wall panels

· To create clear and concise AutoCAD/AutoFloor drawings for customer approval from architect, engineers, steel fabricators and site measurements as appropriate

· To liaise with the customer and other professionals until full approval had been received

· Ensure that Spanwright engineers have received all project information and have completed their approval prior to issue

· To create clear and concise AutoCAD/AutoFloor drawings to be issued to production for manufacture and to liaise with production on any bespoke details

· To use AutoFloor to its full efficiency to produce flooring drawings

· To report any software issues to management

· To check all drawings prior to issue to production for accuracy against plans received and on site measurements to allow for dimensional tolerances and product dimensions

· To undertake all work in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Statement, Policies and Procedures.

· To report any potential health & safety issues that may occur on site as seen from drawings and documents received

· To report any issues to your supervisor immediately

· To ensure that all drawings comply with company standards and external standards such as building regulation and European standards

· To ensure that all details and designs are completed as efficiently as possible to ensure clients requirements are met

· To leave your work area clean and tidy at the end of each working day

· To manage your time-keeping and attendance in accordance with the Company’s policies.

· Maintain high level of communication within department and across factory floor.

· Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure tasks are completed safely, consistently, and to the required quality standards.

· Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

· Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on site.

· Ensure all work meets established Quality standards, reporting any defects, issues, or non-conformances immediately.

· Support the company’s Environmental policies by minimising environmental impact and following correct waste disposal procedures.

· Work in accordance with relevant ISO standards and accreditations (e.g., quality, safety, and environmental management systems), to ensure standards are maintained.

· Maintain high levels of housekeeping to ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and hassard-free.

· Identify opportunities for reducing waste, improving efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

· Abide by company policies and procedures as outlined in Company Handbook.

· Undertake any other tasks requested by manager to successfully carry out this function within the Company.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience

· Experience producing 2D technical drawings, ideally within precast concrete, structural, or construction environments

· Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent 2D / 3D CAD software)

· Strong understanding of construction drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and detailing standards

· Ability to interpret engineer’s designs, specifications, and mark-ups accurately

· Good attention to detail and ability to manage revisions and deadlines

· Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

· Organised approach with good time management

· Willingness to learn company-specific standards and processes

· Problem-solving mindset when resolving drawing conflicts

· Full, clean driver’s licence.

· Valid Visa to work in the EU.

· Ability to manage efficiently and work under own supervision.
