Overview
We are seeking a motivated Automotive Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance within a professional collision shop environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, and has a passion for automotive technology. As an Automotive Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced technicians to develop your skills across various automotive systems and repairs, including diagnostics, electrical systems, and engine maintenance. This role provides a valuable stepping stone toward a career as a certified mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing automotive issues across a variety of vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles
  • Support technicians with repairs involving powertrain, electrical systems, ADAS, and vehicle maintenance
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as wheel alignments, welding, and component replacements
  • Learn to interpret schematics and technical manuals to aid in troubleshooting complex automotive problems
  • Participate in vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Assist with auto body repairs and welding tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards
  • Develop proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and automotive service software
  • Support the team with general shop maintenance and customer service duties as required

Experience

  • Prior experience or automotive service background is required 2-5 years experience; training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, schematics, diesel engine repair, and ADAS technology is advantageous
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, powertrain components, alignment procedures, and auto body repair is beneficial
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive diagnostics is desirable

Strong interest in automotive repair with a willingness to learn new skills in automotive electrical systems, all vehicles, and advanced diagnostics

  • Customer service experience is a plus for interacting professionally with clients during service visits

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
