JOB SUMMARY

The Apprentice Electrician supports licensed electricians and team leads in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical work across residential, commercial, renovation, and service projects. This role is responsible for assisting with installations, maintenance, repairs, material handling, tool organization, and job-site preparation while learning proper electrical methods under supervision. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, safety-focused, and committed to developing strong technical skills while representing Ivy League Electric with professionalism and respect on every site.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist journeymen and licensed electricians with electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, and service work.
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and blueprints under supervision.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks such as pulling wire, mounting boxes, fastening conduits, preparing materials, and supporting installation work.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites that reflect The Ivy League Way.
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, ESA code expectations, and company policies at all times.
  • Support material handling, deliveries, setup, cleanup, and job-site equipment organization.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job-site organization with care and accountability.
  • Observe and practise troubleshooting techniques alongside licensed electricians and mentors.
  • Communicate clearly with team leads, electricians, office staff, clients, and other trades when required.
  • Track assigned work, materials, and progress accurately as directed.
  • Attend required apprenticeship training and maintain accurate logbook hours.
  • Develop technical skills through mentorship, hands-on experience, and a strong commitment to learning the trade.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through reliability, respect, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation preferred.
  • Basic understanding of tools, construction environments, and job-site safety.
  • Willingness to learn ESA code requirements, electrical safety standards, and proper installation methods.
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and take feedback professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and respect for client spaces.
  • Ability to work safely and productively as part of a team.
  • Physically able to lift materials, use tools, climb ladders, and work in active job-site conditions.
  • Punctual, dependable, and committed to steady skill development.
  • Professional attitude and willingness to represent Ivy League Electric respectfully on every site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$32.00 per hour
