Aba Parent Trainer And Behavior Intervention Specialist

Achievement Behavior Services has an immediate need for a hybrid Parent Counselor Trainer (PCTs)/Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) Direct Support Provider (DSP) for school aged students in teh West Hempstead School District. Our ideal candidate has a Masters in Applied Behavior Analyitics (ABA) or a related field and has experience working with the Special Education Community with in the NYS DOE. This position is an in-district, in-home service after school position where the ABA pprovider will work closely with parents to empower them with the knowledge, tools, and interventions necessary for managing their student's behaviors effectively at home and in community settings.

Position Expectations: Develop and deliver training sessions tailored to the unique needs the assigned family. The intentended focus is on applying ABA-guided therapy and behavior intervention strategies as a means of improving the family dynamic via implmenting strategies for effective communication, enhanced socilization, and more structured engagement.

  • Observe student's behavior and provide analysis and assessment to identify the specific ABA, Behavior Intervention Strategies
  • Create a Behavior intervention Plan (BIP) and thoroughly track and monitor the student's progress
  • Comply with the student's IEP Mandates:
    • BIS Services 5x weekly for 2 hour Sessions
    • PCT sessions 2x Monthly for 1 hour
  • Provide creative training materials focused on effective behavior intervention techniques.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for parents, ensuring engagement and understanding.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to parents as they implement behavior strategies at home.
  • Create reports and attend annual CSE meetings if requested by the West Hempstead School District

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Special Education, or ABA, or Psychology, or Social Work or related field
  • Experience working with school aged students in the Special Education or Autism Communtiy
  • Experience with direct implmentation of ABA to students and parents
  • Candidates must live in communiting distance of the West Hempstead School District

Job Types: Afterschool, Flexible Sechdule, Part-time &/or Weeknd Hours (make your own schedule w/in the family's availablity)

  • Availability for BIS DSP Sessions - Monday-Thursday for two hour sessions, five days a week between 12:30p and 5:00p M-F
  • Availabilty for PCT- Tuesday or Wednesday Evenings between 7 and 8:30pm for 1 hour twice a month

Avalability for the full schedule to fulfill the IEP madate is required.
