Position Title: Aboriginal Mental Health Trainee
Classification: SP40
Salary per Fortnight (exc. super): $2,445.60
Hours per fortnight: 80 hours (includes an ADO every 4 weeks)
Employment Status: Full time (fixed term 3-year program - February 2028)

The Aboriginal Mental Health trainee position offers the opportunity to study for a degree in Mental Health while being employed to study and gain supervised work experience. There is no prerequisite for entry into the course and a tutor is available to support the study component. The trainee will work within multidisciplinary teams on rotations within inpatient, residential and community teams of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Service. The trainee will be supported to complete a Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) degree at Charles Sturt University via distance education including two week-long residential intensives per annum. On completion of the program, trainees will be eligible to become mental health professionals of the health service’s multidisciplinary mental health teams.
