About the Role
The School of Design and Architecture (SoDA) is seeking a customer centric and highly organised Academic and Research Coordinator to support the School’s operations.
In this role, you will undertake a broad range of school support activities working closely with the relevant Department Chair to provide all round teaching and research support, whilst ensuring compliance with university policy and procedures. You will also be required to represent the School on university-wide projects and initiatives that enable continuous improvement driving ongoing operational efficiency.
We are looking for someone who is a natural problem solver, enjoys working at a fast pace and has strong interpersonal skills to manage a range of diverse stakeholders. Experience in higher education teaching and research administration is highly desirable.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, liaise and work with people at all levels, both internal and external to the University with tact, maturity and appreciation of sensitive issues.
- Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies, strategies and procedures within a complex environment.
- Highly proficient computer skills, in particular MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and a keen interest to develop skills in Power BI, Copilot and other technology solutions to maximise operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration.
- Demonstrated high level of confidential detailed administrative support to senior management.
- Experience in research contract administration is preferred but not essential.
Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant executive administration experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
