Job Summary
The K-5 Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting students who require additional assistance in their educational journey. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to develop and implement tailored intervention strategies that promote academic success and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, particularly in special education and early childhood development, and will be adept at utilizing various teaching methodologies to meet diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans for students requiring additional support.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate intervention strategies into the classroom setting.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on literacy, math, and other core subjects.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional methods and student engagement.
- Mentor students to foster self-confidence and motivation in their learning processes.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate findings with parents and educators.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Skills
- Strong proofreading and writing skills for developing educational materials.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Background in mentoring students, particularly those needing tier two academic intervention
- Knowledge of early childhood/elementary education principles and childhood development stages.
- Effective classroom management techniques to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Familiarity with lesson planning that aligns with educational standards.
- Expertise in literacy education strategies and math instruction methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Experience working with standardized testing protocols and tutoring practices.
- Hold the belief that all students can thrive academically and socially.
- Experience with progress monitoring and data informed educational practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $70,573.00 per year
