About the role

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust Voluntary Adoption Agency have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and positive individual ready to take on this role alongside an experienced social worker within a busy, county-wide team, which provides a range of Adoption & SGO support.

Access to Records provides support to adopted adults and birth families seeking information about relatives who were adopted.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for liaising with courts, Local Authorities and the General Registry Office in order to locate and gather records of adoption and supporting with the process of summarising these records and facilitating records being shared sensitively with adopted adults.

About you

You have excellent organisational skills, are detail oriented, with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

You communicate effectively with empathy, understanding and some knowledge about adoption and the lifelong impact on families.

You can liaise positively with people from all walks of life with a range of cultural, age, personal and learning needs.

You are patient and able to support others presenting with strong emotions.

You demonstrate strong values around anti-discriminatory professional behaviour.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a confident and positive person who learns quickly.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
