Account Executive (Public Sector)

Are you a Public Sector Senior Account Executive, ideally with a background in Cyber Security? Ready to join a high growth, industry shaping security vendor.

Due to increased demand for our IRAP assessed platform we are looking to hire a Public Sector Sales Account Executive in Sydney, NSW. In this role you will make a significant contribution to the growth and success of the business in your assigned region, territory, or vertical, by aggressively developing new business through new and existing accounts and managing profitable business relationships to assist in the achievement of the sales plan. This position is supported by our team of Sales Engineers and will have access to Product Specialists, Channel Managers and Customer Success teams.

About the Team

Our APJ Sales organization serves as a strategic partner for our customers, helping them achieve a more secure digital future. By leveraging the full value of our product portfolio our Sales teams create relevant solutions to meet our customers needs and keep them secure. This position reports to the Director of Sales and will be supported by our team of Sales Engineers and will have access to Product Specialists, Product Managers and Customer Success teams, all with the collective goal of best serving our India customer base with best-in-class Cybersecurity solutions and services.

Our Account Executives are set up to be successful through our sales enablement team, who through a blend of training programs and coaching will ensure that all our AE’s are fully immersed into our business and products and can articulate Rapid7 solutions to align with customer needs.

About the role

Due to increased demand we are looking to hire an Account Executive in Sydney (NSW). In this role you will make a significant contribution to the growth and success of the business in your assigned region, territory, or vertical, by developing new business through new and existing accounts and managing profitable business relationships to assist in the achievement of the sales plan.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage NSW Public Sector (State Gov/Local Councils) accounts within the assigned region.

  • Responsible for lead generation, building relationships with prospective customers, account profiling and developing the prospective customer into a revenue generating customer.

  • Position Rapid7 platform, including Managed Security Services to craft effective solutions

  • Proven solution sales experience in identifying market size and focus; developing sales pipeline; penetrating new accounts and driving the sales process.

  • Ability to multi-task numerous sales cycles simultaneously, while ensuring revenue goals are achieved.

  • Meet or exceed quarterly/annual sales quota.

  • Develop and manage pipeline, providing weekly updates to forecast.

  • Ensure the provision of appropriate business information for decision-making and control.

  • Negotiate contracts, up-sell, build customer rapport, and assist with adoption

  • Provide appropriate sales tracking and reporting as required leveraging Salesforce.com and Clari

  • Represent Rapid7 at external events, including industry events

  • Navigate channel and MSSP partners and and effectively collaborate to grow assigned territory business

  • Manage and respond to RFP’s, working with internal stakeholders within and outside of Australia.

The skills you’ll bring include:

  • We are looking for candidates to be based locally in Sydney.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a New Business Sales role within the Cyber Security industry. Candidates from Cloud, IAS, Managed Hosting, SaaS & Software also considered.
  • Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of solution selling.
  • A track record of consistent performance and outstanding target achievement in a New Business Development role.
  • Brings existing relationships at Technology Management level within government or public sector customers.
  • Past experience selling into Public Sector is required.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit by which you will own and drive your own business in the Public Sector domain.
