Summary:
First National Bank is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Accountant at the New Bremen branch. The role will have functions that include the following duties:
Assist with various activities in the computer and accounting department, including transmitting and recording transactions, operating computer and peripheral equipment to process data, and help maintain accounting and computer records.
Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state and local financial regulations.
Assist in the bank’s management of accounting functions and systems including preparation of entries or support for entries, wire transfers for customers, and various other activities as needed.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely payment of certain taxes.
Assist customers with technological service problems including internet banking, mobile banking, bill pay, etc. as well as resolving account problems in person or via telephone.
Branch administration duties including overseeing bank wide scheduling and staffing requirements.
Assist in the oversight of all aspects of the corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Programs.
Contact customers and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.
Research investment options available to the bank and make recommendations to management.
Any other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Potential delegation of supervision of certain branch employees depending on experience and performance in the position.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Five years of banking experience with knowledge of bank operations desired. Previous experience with BSA, AML and related regulations strongly preferred.
Must enjoy customer service and possess the ability to manage competing demands by constant reevaluation of daily priorities according to customer and business needs.
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as bank policies, operating instructions, regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization.
Must be detail oriented, alert to potential problems, organized, and have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess good listening skills, initiative and motivation, and able to adapt well to change. Ability to define complex problems, draw valid conclusions through research, and define workable solutions. Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills
Experience with Fiserv financial and other related software and the Microsoft Office suite a plus.
Customer service experience preferred.
Understand the importance of confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
