Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency, contributing to our mission of delivering transparent and reliable financial services. Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts regularly to maintain data integrity.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant governmental accounting standards.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, and Paychex to process payroll management, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with budgeting processes and provide insights through financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements by maintaining thorough documentation and internal controls.
- Support tax preparation activities by gathering necessary documentation and ensuring timely submissions.
- Perform month-end closing procedures including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in Subcontracting accounting..
- Hands-on experience working with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks or similar tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll management systems like Pay Day payroll.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required.
- Excellent math skills with high accuracy in data entry (10 key typing) and attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data with clarity while maintaining a professional approach to all responsibilities. Pay: $40,000.00 - $41,600.00 per year
