Company Overview
We are a small, fast-paced advertising agency in Lakewood seeking to fill an Accountant/Bookkeeper position with an emphasis in Accounts Payable. Duties include processing a high volume of AP, AR, making ACH payments, bank reconciliations and administrative duties.
Major Responsibilities:
· Process accurate monthly billing for assigned divisions.
· Process vendor payments as/when needed, should be familiar with invoice authorization and account coding.
· Handle daily bank deposits with multiple bank accounts and bank account reconciliation.
· Work closely with our media department in the preparation of monthly media billing to clients in an accurate and timely manner.
· Generate journal entries and accruals as part of month-end close process.
· Responsible for special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Prospective candidates for this position must possess a minimum of 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience. Accounting degree a plus, but not required.
· The candidate must demonstrate a strong knowledge of financial statements and Debits and Credits.
· A/P background a must - processing checks and credit card payments.
· Bank account reconciliation experience helpful with daily (or as needed) remote bank deposits and periodic bank runs.
· Prior experience in administrative tasks – filing, phones, mail, ordering office supplies, maintain postage meter as needed, and process/print monthly billing packets.
· Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
· Experience with monthly sales/use tax filing with city and state revenue departments preferred.
· Great attention to detail, organized and dependable, very task oriented.
· Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills.
· The successful candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
· Energetic and willing to learn.
· Able to work independently with little supervision.
· The ideal candidate must be a team player and a team builder, with strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be capable of presenting information clearly and accurately to the Senior Accountant.
· Should like working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation:
The compensation package for this position will be dependent on work history and experience, starting in the range of $50,000-$55,000 per year dependent upon experience, with a comprehensive benefit package. Relocation will not be considered for this position. This position is in-office, with rare exceptions.
