About Datum
Datum Homes is a custom home builder focused on high-end residential construction and renovation. We build homes where the details matter — from the structure to the finish.
Alongside Datum Homes, we operate Datum Details (home care and maintenance) and Cathedral Custom (millwork and cabinetry). Together, these companies support projects from start to long-term care.

About this role
We’re looking for an Accounting Administrative Assistant to support both the front office and accounting functions across all three companies.
This is a part-time position, approximately 30–32 hours per week, with a clear opportunity to transition into full-time as the role evolves.
Working hours are:
- Monday: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
This is not just a reception role.
You’ll be the first point of contact in the office, but your main responsibility is keeping things organized, accurate, and running properly behind the scenes.
Over time, the role is designed to shift more heavily into accounting.
What you'll be working on
Front office
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients, trades, and visitors
- Keeping the office clean, organized, and presentable
- Managing the admin inbox and routing emails appropriately
- Coordinating mail, deliveries, and meeting setup
Administrative support
- Keeping files, folders, and Google Drive organized and consistent
- Formatting, scanning, and organizing documents
- Supporting schedules, meetings, and internal coordination
Accounting support (core focus)
- Entering and organizing bills and receipts in DEXT and QuickBooks Online
- Ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
- Following up on missing receipts or information
- Maintaining vendor records and GST details
- Reviewing timesheets for accuracy
- Assisting with invoicing and reporting preparation
Project support
- Keeping project documentation organized and up to date
- Supporting consistency across project records
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail (this is non-negotiable)
- Interest in accounting and long-term growth in that direction
- Highly organized and reliable
- Professional communication and presentation
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks at once
- Takes ownership and follows through
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel is a must
- Experience with tools like Google Drive, QBO, or DEXT is an asset (but can be learned)
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
