If so, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Everest Insurance business based in Madrid as an Accounting Analyst. You would be joining an expanding team and organization, offering an opportunity to put in to practice the accounting knowledge you already have whilst developing on this to further progress your career within accounting. You will be closely working with the Financial Operations Manager and a Team of 3 more people, in a very dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring AP mailboxes for multiple branches and processing all payments, support all day-to-day non-technical operational activities within the finance remit, including vendor management, Concur (T&E), Fixed Assets, Leases, Payroll, AP & expense accounting and reconciliations.
  • Employee expense processing and accurate recording of such in the general ledger
  • Credit card administrative duties including new applications, managing credit limits, following up with cardholders on outstanding reports
  • Maintaining and following up on credit card general ledger suspense postings
  • Intercompany accounting including ledger posting, settlement of invoices and reconciliations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items to be cleared
  • Prepare monthly accruals
  • Expense analysis
  • Accounts receivable activities including cash management
  • Support with external audit queries
  • Identify process improvements
Candidate Profile
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Post graduate degree in business/accountancy/finance disciplines with 2-3 years experience
  • Interest in pursuing an accountancy qualification (chartered or technician) e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ATI etc will be desirable. Everest will support tuition for a professional qualification relevant to this role.
  • Good experience of accounts payable within Financial Services
  • Strong end user computing skills in particular MS Excel
  • Communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The candidate will be a self-starter, can work on their own initiative as well as being flexible, energetic, and capable of working as part of a team
