Position Overview

Creative Flavors & Specialties is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis.

Working directly with company leadership and our CPA, you will oversee the company’s daily accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, process payroll, and support financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full Accounts Receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections, cash application, account maintenance, and monitoring aging reports.
  • Manage Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices, payments, expense tracking, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger through journal entries and timely bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end financial reports, supporting schedules, and documentation for management and the Company’s CPA.
  • Monitor cash flow, analyze financial data, resolve discrepancies, and recommend improvements that strengthen financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other accounting projects as needed.
  • Maintain organized, confidential, and audit-ready financial records.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Professional communication skills and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to commute to our Whippany (Morris County) or Somerset, New Jersey locations.

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing or small business environment.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Bookkeeping or accounting certification.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
