Accounts Assistant (Bookkeeper)

Permanent, full-time, office-based

Salary: €40,000 – €46,000 depending on experience

Aveo Foods is an Irish manufacturer of chilled and frozen ready meals supplying major grocery retailers, foodservice and airline customers. We employ around 80 people at our purpose-built site in Tallaght. We are strengthening our finance team and require an experienced Accounts Assistant to run our day-to-day bookkeeping.

The role

• Purchase ledger: supplier invoice processing, PO matching, query resolution, weekly payment runs
• Sales ledger: customer invoicing, receipts, debtor collection, retailer portal invoicing
• Weekly bank reconciliations, including the invoice discounting account
• Bi-monthly VAT returns and annual RTD, filed on ROS
• Payroll inputs and journals (CollSoft)
• Period-end accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
• Maintaining audit-ready finance records

You will report to the Managing Director initially and to the Finance and Business Performance Manager once appointed.

What we require

• Three or more years' bookkeeping or accounts assistant experience covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank and VAT
• QuickBooks Online or a comparable cloud accounting system
• Strong Excel
• Working knowledge of Irish VAT and payroll compliance
• Accurate, organised, and able to work to fixed period-end deadlines with limited supervision
• Right to work in Ireland

Desirable

• Accounting Technicians Ireland qualification, or part-qualified ACCA/CPA
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or another stock-holding business
• CollSoft payroll

Start date

Mid-September 2026, to allow a handover with our current accounts team.
