Role:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. This role involves working across multiple companies, managing high volumes of invoices, and maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external suppliers, particularly within a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and upload invoices into Sage for multiple companies
- Download invoices from various platforms and ensure completeness of records
- Check and verify invoices for accuracy, validity, and proper documentation
- Ensure all invoices are authorised by the relevant personnel and correctly coded
- Maintain digital filing systems and accurate supplier records, including supplier set-up
- Perform monthly supplier reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve invoice and creditor issues in a timely manner
- Maintain and monitor disputed invoice records
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payment runs
- Manage multiple email inboxes, ensuring timely responses and organisation
- Liaise closely with Quantity Surveyors (QSs) and internal departments
- Run reports from Sage, including creditors, VAT, and disputed invoices
- File RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) payment notifications with Revenue
- Assist with month-end processes and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks as required
- Assist in developing and improving procedures and internal controls
- Provide training to staff where required
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance role – minimum 3 years
- Good understanding of VAT and RCT regulations (Ireland experience preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Good understanding in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems

Pay: €38,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
