Accounts Receivable Administrator

- Apply and post payments to customer accounts on daily basis from various sources such as EFT/ACH/Wire, credit & debit card payments and unapplied cash.
- Ensuring KPI’s are met.
- Investigate and resolve misapplied cash transactions.
- Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and perform root cause analysis.
- Perform related administrative duties.
- Prepare and create AR refunds, and other adjusting journal entries as required.
- Initiate professional contact with internal customer service representatives and external customers as needed to obtain remittance advice and support other AR initiatives.
- Assist with month end close & daily deposit reconciliation to the bank.
- Assist with managing Cash application email inbox by managing cash application inquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
- Documentation of processes and desktop instructions.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting/Business Administration.
- Preferred 5+ years’ work experience in accounting functions (AP/AR/Billings/GL/Cash applications)
- Preferred 3+ years’ experience in Cash Application
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites (Intermediate Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Working knowledge of various accounting ERP systems, Workday experience considered an asset.
- Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and accounting impacts of transactions.
- Good analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to privacy and ethical conduct, and compliance to firm policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Enrollment in the CPA program and French language is considered an asset.
- Good organizational, time management, prioritization skills and can work flexible schedule to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Quick learner, self-motivated and can cope positively in a fast paced and agile work environment.
- Be able to work Independently and self- directed to achieve job responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent analytical skills and problem- solving skills, able to perform root cause analysis.
- Team player who will go beyond and above to support team goals and objectives
- A professional demeanor and a positive attitude with mindset for continuous development and growth.
- Demonstrates tact and discretion, sound judgment and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
