Position Summary

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will work closely with HomeEd's staff and residents for various accounting-related activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter move in’s and process move out’s for tenants in existing buildings or prospects for new buildings
  • Perform routine bank deposits, enter bank information and auto-withdrawals
  • Receive, enter and post payments for accounts receivable, including applying prepayments on a timely basis
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date AR balance
  • Maintain the tenant ledgers, including processing tenant chargebacks and tenant move-outs
  • Create additional tenant charges (i.e. late fees, tenant charge backs, NSF and etc.)
  • Deal with returned deposits and communicate internally with operations until resolution
  • Assist in collection of current tenant charges
  • Carry out the collection of overdue accounts for past tenants and working with a collections agency as needed
  • Run monthly Gross Potential Rent report and rent rolls for all properties, portfolios, or overall for the organization
  • Perform monthly review process with operations
  • Provide coverage for Accounts Payable Clerk, as well as assistance during times of heavier workloads
  • Provide assistance for annual audits, lender, or other 3rd parties as necessary
  • Assist the Accounting Manager as needed

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Minimum diploma in Accounting is required
  • 1+ years in a dynamic accounting environment, including experience in accounts receivable
  • Experience in property management software such as Yardi is an asset
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, and video conferencing products
  • Written and oral fluency in the English language
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.

Salary is commensurate to experience.
