As part of the expansion of the American Accreditation Association -AAA SME Accreditation Programme in India, we are inviting experienced professionals, consultants, auditors, assessors and retired experts to apply to join the AAA Panel of Assessors on a project-by-project basis.
Role Responsibilities
As an AAA SME Accreditation Assessor, you will evaluate applicant SMEs against AAA’s structured assessment framework, covering:
- Management and organisational structure
- Financial and funding readiness
- Operational requirements
- Governance and compliance
- Market presence and growth
- Continuous improvement
Assessments may be conducted on-site or virtually, depending on the assignment. Each assessment will conclude with a clear, evidence-based report prepared in accordance with AAA requirements.
Mandatory AAA Assessor Training
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a mandatory SME Accreditation Assessor Training Course provided by AAA free of charge during the last week of November 2026.
Final appointment to the AAA Panel of Assessors is conditional upon successfully completing and passing the training course. Candidates who successfully pass will be formally approved for the role and become eligible to receive SME accreditation assignments.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in industry, auditing, quality management, banking, finance, business consulting or working with MSMEs
- Previous exposure to ISO standards, accreditation, certification, auditing frameworks or business advisory services is an advantage
- Strong analytical, evaluation and report-writing skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Hindi or regional language ability is an advantage
- Based in India and willing to travel for on-site assessments when required
Retired professionals with relevant experience in auditing, quality management, banking, finance, industry or business development are encouraged to apply.

Important Information
This is a freelance, project-based role and not a permanent salaried position. Assessment assignments will be offered according to programme requirements, assessor expertise, location and availability. Appointment to the panel does not guarantee a minimum number of assignments.
