About the Role: We are seeking a Clinical Team Coordinator to join our Adult Acute Community MH Services team. This senior nursing position offers an opportunity to lead, coordinate, and enhance clinical service delivery across our acute mental health pathways. The successful candidate will work closely with our Senior Medical Officer (SMO) and Team Manager to ensure the safe and effective care of patients experiencing acute mental health crises.

As the Clinical Team Coordinator, you will provide essential leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that clinical best practices are adhered to and that staff receive the mentoring and supervision necessary for professional development. Your role will also include supporting workforce development, participating in service improvements, and acting as a clinical resource to your team. Our successful applicant will be a excellent communicator with a strong clinical skill-set, professionalism and a relational approach to promote great teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day clinical service delivery within the acute pathway.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to nursing and clinical staff.
  • Manage staff allocation and resources to meet the demands of the service.
  • Oversee clinical reviews, ensuring family and whanau participation.
  • Actively monitor and manage clinician caseloads for optimal workload balance.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and professional development of staff.
  • Participate in and lead service improvement and quality initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate (scope includes Mental Health and Addictions).
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a mental health setting, including community mental health teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and service delivery within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in professional supervision, case load management, and service improvement.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification or currently undertaking postgraduate study in a related field.
  • Professional Supervision or Coaching and Mentoring qualification.
  • Experience with clinical audits and quality improvement processes.
  • Experience with Mental Health and DAO qualification.
