Location: Hutt Hospital Emergency Department
Service: ED, Medical and MAPU
Contract: Permanent, part-time (28 hours per week)
Salary: $65,627 - $74,510 (based on experience)
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Provide excellent 24/7 admin support and reception duties as part of our Front of Whare. You will work in a busy, fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring exceptional service is received by our patients, whanau and community. This is a rostered and rotated position across a 24 hour/ 7 day service, with afternoon, weekend and overnight night shifts required.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Hutt Emergency Department (ED) is a level 4 emergency care service and sees approximately 80,000 patients a year. Generally it is at its busiest in the winter months. Patient acuity ranges from `walking wounded` to life threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest and trauma
Being our best and demonstrating excellent Front of Whare, we strive to provide patient focused care, working with our patients relatives and community in a cohesive and inclusive environment. We aim to provide efficient and helpful reception and administration services for all visits, admissions, transfers, and discharges from the Emergency Department.
Moū - About you
We - re looking for a highly motivated candidate who excels in a customer service role, with experience in a high volume or high stress environment. Due to the nature of this role you must be flexible to work across the 24/7 roster. Skills and experience we are looking for include:
- Efficient time management skills and the ability to meet delivery pressures, supporting both the administration, team leader, nursing and medical teams
- You must be self-motivated, customer focused, have excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work with other cultures other than their own, able to communicate with members of the public, including those that maybe distressed or vulnerable
- Demonstrate great communication skills, actively participates within the team and has a "can do" attitude
Previous experience in a health care environment is advantageous but not essential.
