Balzer’s Canada Inc. is a respected leader in large-scale industrial construction, supporting major projects including refineries, power plants, and wastewater facilities across Canada.

We are seeking a professional, organized, and dependable Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our Finance Department. This is an entry-level administrative position focused on office coordination, document management, and general administrative support for the finance team.

This is not an accounting position. The role is strictly administrative in nature.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Corporate Administration Manager while providing day-to-day administrative support to the Finance Department.

This role also serves as an important front-facing position for the company, managing incoming telephone calls and directing inquiries from clients, vendors, and internal staff. A confident and professional telephone presence is essential, as this role frequently acts as the first point of contact for the organization.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Emerald Park, SK. No remote or hybrid options are available. Reliable personal transportation is required as there is no public transit service to our location.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a professional corporate environment where organization, accuracy, and discretion are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Department and Corporate Administration
  • Operate the company switchboard and manage incoming calls with confidence, professionalism, and excellent telephone etiquette
  • Direct calls and inquiries to the appropriate personnel
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial and administrative records
  • Assist with document control, scanning, and electronic filing
  • Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, and internal communications
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate internal records
  • Assist with meeting coordination and scheduling as required
  • Support general office coordination and administrative tasks
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive company information
  • Assist the Corporate Administration Manager with administrative projects as required

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) — essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong and confident telephone presence with professional phone etiquette
  • Previous administrative or office experience is an asset, but not required
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional interpersonal skills when interacting with staff, vendors, and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Reliable transportation to/from Emerald Park

Compensation

$16.44 – $21.32 per hour, depending on experience.
