Introduction:
St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Administrative Officer (11 hours per week – 5 hours at Level 4 and 6 hours at Level 6) to join the team from May for the remainder of the year.
Located in the Hunter Region, just a short 30-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and Port Stephens, St Brigid’s is a vibrant K–6 school of 386 students. The school fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where the unique talents of every student and staff member are recognised, valued, and encouraged. A strong emphasis on physical activity and healthy living is embedded across all aspects of school life.
Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The School Administrative Officer provides administrative support to school staff and the school principal. Administrative Officers within the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle may be classified as either a level 4,5 or 6. Indicative duties for each of these levels can be found under the leadership framework - Administrative Support.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school
- Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience using initiative and self-motivation in the workplace
- Demonstrated ability in accurately and proficiently performing a wide range of administration tasks
- Intermediate experience and ability to work with various databases, Microsoft office programs and excel
- Demonstrated capacity to organise, prioritise and multitask to meet various deadlines
- An understanding and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment
- Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
- Completion of Anaphylaxis training
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
