About the Role:
Reporting to the School Business Manager and working closely with the wider admin team, you will undertake general administrative activities which support the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the school. As the friendly face of the school, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors including industry colleagues, all general enquiries, and deliveries. You will also liaise with global partners, Faculty and International teams, and the School Advisory Board, which involves representing the school at events and taking part in various committees and providing insights into international relations and university initiatives.

You will also coordinate closely with university stakeholders to ensure seamless support for programs, initiatives and strategic plans and provide support to international students, triaging queries to the appropriate Curtin teams.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sessional Academic Coordination:
  • Supporting annual TEQSA reporting in relation to AQF+1 compliance of sessional academics
  • Working with UCs to support the EOI and interview process for sessional hires – twice per year for each six-month semester
  • Develop and implement a new offer of work paper trail
  • Establish and maintain an email list for all sessional staff so that Director of L&T can send out important information
  • Collaborate with the Teaching Support Team to obtain other reports as required by the SBM in relation to sessional staff
  • Assist the Research and Finance Lead with processing contracts and onboarding of research staff.
Who we are looking for (Selection Criteria):
Our ideal candidate prides themselves on being conscientious and reliable, and will have demonstrable skills, knowledge and experience across the following Essential Criteria:
  • A diploma in a related field and considerable relevant work experience, OR an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
  • Proven ability to run the full administrative life cycle of a busy work area, including events.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills and confidence with online content-management systems.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with well-developed cross-cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Sound judgement and demonstrable problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in a university environment.
Role Requirements:
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
  • Ability to travel offsite work outside of normal office hours may be required from time to time to support school events.
