About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Administrative Officer to join the School of Nursing professional team. You will be a core team member, working collaboratively to facilitate the delivery of day-to-day administrative activities and special projects to support the School of Nursing’s operational and strategic outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide executive support to the School Leadership Group and committees
  • Perform a wide variety of general administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Schedule, administer and support meetings and events for the school including venues, catering, correspondence and promotional materials
  • Provide administrative support to oversee and maintain local HR processes and records
  • Facilitate general purchasing and procurement in accordance with Curtin policies and procedures
  • Maintain and support School social media platform/s
  • Providing administrative support for strategic projects and activities
  • Actively contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of administrative procedures within the school
We are looking for someone with:
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to coordinate the administrative requirements of a functional area.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communication with a well-developed cross-cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Completion of a relevant qualification and/or considerable relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience working in a university environment is desirable but not essential
Role Requirements:
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
  • Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
  • This position is based at our Curtin Bentley campus and candidates are expected to be currently located in Perth, WA. Relocation and sponsorship support will not be provided for this position.
