The Ministerial and Official Correspondence team in the Ministerial and Monitoring Group is a vibrant and positive team delivering on official correspondence across multiple Ministerial portfolios. Your can-do attitude and your political acumen will be highly valued.

This role is at the heart of transparent and open government. The Advisor collaborates across the Department to deliver on Official Information Act requests, Ministerial replies, responses to parliamentary questions, event briefings for Ministerial visits, and Ministerial Status Reports.

You will have:

  • a working knowledge of, or experience in writing OIA responses and/or other types of official correspondence;
  • knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, particularly the Official Information Act 1882 and Public Records Act 2005;
  • an understanding of the machinery of government and ministerial processes;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for accuracy, detail and quality;
  • ability to identify and effectively mitigate risks;
  • excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work at all levels of an organisation; and
  • an ability to self-manage your time and remain calm and focused to deliver to tight timeframes when needed.
