About the role
We are currently on the lookout for someone to join our team as an Advisor – Tauira Support on a Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis based in Mangere, Auckland.
As our Advisor – Tauira Support, your primary responsibility is to provide professional support services tailored to meet the individual needs of our tauira. You will work closely with tauira, addressing various challenges they may encounter and guiding them towards successful outcomes.
As a pillar of support, addressing a wide range of issues that our tauira may face, including academic challenges, attendance issues, career guidance, enrolment procedures and more. You will actively engage in problem-solving and barrier removal to foster an environment conducive to learning and growth. You will also communicate with fellow advisors and kaimahi to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting our tauira and achieving positive outcomes.
About you
You will bring with you the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to education, psychology, or sociology.
- Full New Zealand driver’s license.
- 2+ years’ experience in an education or social services type role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and build relationships with people at all levels.
- Intermediate user knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
