We are looking for a warm, creative, and dedicated Afterschool Educator to join our play-based, multicultural afterschool program in Galway. This PART-TIME role involves working with children aged 4–12 in a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and encourages learning through play.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and an interest in supporting a rich, inclusive learning atmosphere where different languages and cultures are valued and respected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and supervise a variety of play-based activities;
  • Provide a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds;
  • Support children’s emotional and social development through positive interactions;
  • Promote multicultural awareness and respect through activities, celebrations, and everyday practice;
  • Assist with homework support when needed;
  • Communicate effectively with parents, team members, and management;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and child protection regulations.

Requirements:

  • QQI/FETAC Level 5 in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Garda Vetting
  • Child Protection and First Aid training (can be completed upon hiring)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge in Reggio Emilia Aproach​
  • Skills in arts, sports or movement-based activities
  • Fluency in or exposure to more than one language
