Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic After-School Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in Brooklyn. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality behavioral support to children with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, during after-school hours. Your focus will be on implementing individualized behavior plans, assisting with daily living activities, and fostering a positive learning environment. Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions using applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to support children's developmental goals.
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, dressing, feeding, and hygiene routines, promoting independence and self-care skills.
- Collect and record data on behavior and skill acquisition accurately to monitor progress and inform treatment plans.
- Support teaching strategies designed to improve communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each child's needs.
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and families to ensure consistency in behavior management and care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records and adhere to HIPAA regulations during all documentation processes.
- Engage in ongoing training related to behavioral health, medical terminology, and behavior management techniques to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or therapeutic settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy principles, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or special education is a plus.
- Strong patience, empathy, and communication skills essential for working effectively with children with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and accurately document medical records and progress notes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
