Community Employment Scheme: This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

The Community Employment Scheme is a project funded by the department in which hopes to help people gain work experience while taking on courses of their choice eg, health care, admin etc at no cost to the employee. The end goal is to ensure our employees have the work experience and qualifications to then find full time employment once their time on the scheme is up. Wages are determined by the department and will be in line with what you are currently receiving from social welfare, Minumum wage of €271.50 per week for 19.5 hours work. Employees come off social welfare and are paid by Youthwork Ireland: North Connaught on a weekly basis, employees will not receive two payments.

Afterschool Assistant required for a busy childcare centre, Cosy Cats the mall Co.Sligo Monday to Friday Between 1pm- 6pm.19.5 hours per week.

Duties will include: ·

Working as part of a team in the day to day running of the Catacombs/Cosy Cats, Involvement in planning and implementing activities and programmes as scheduled in an Afterschool Programme. ·

Assisting Childcare Staff with small groups of children and assisting them where necessary in the various activities.

Assisting in Homework Supervision.

Assisting with the walking bus which entails school collections to and from school. · Involvement in supervision and being aware of special dietary requirements for children during meal times.

Escorting children to areas of the building i.e. toilets, outside play area all in accordance with Policies and Procedures.

Adhering to all Policies and Procedures and ensuring compliance with good standards of hygiene. Regular fire drills are included.

Communicate with the Manager of Catacombs or Co-ordinator in respect of any concern they may have even in relation to Health & Safety.

Being aware of and vigilant for signs of child abuse or issues and report immediately to the Manager or Coordinator.

To participate in relevant training eg First Aid, Manual Handling and Safeguarding Trust where necessary and to highlight your needs for any other relevant training required.

Taking part in team meetings

Ensure that users of the Catacombs adhere to regulations related to the use of facilities.

Investigate unauthorized activities in grounds and report subsequent problems to the Manager of Catacombs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From €271.50 per week

Expected hours: 19.5 per week
