Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Airport Maintenance Handyman to support the daily upkeep, repair, and safety of airport facilities, and assist our Airport Operations Manager. This role is critical to ensuring a clean, functional, and safe environment for staff, visitors, and tenants. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and capable of handling a wide range of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on airport buildings, equipment, and infrastructure
- Address plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC-related issues as needed
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve maintenance concerns proactively
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment
- Assist with seasonal duties such as snow removal and landscaping
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and report completed tasks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade certification is an asset)
- Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good physical condition; ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments
- Valid driver’s licence (required)
- Be able to work in Canada
Preferred Skills:
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Background in multiple trades: carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing
- Must have the ability to work independently and to undertake a variety of tasks and perform them with a minimum of supervision
