Mandatory requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.
Description:
As a Ramp Officer, you’ll be responsible for making sure baggage and freight get where they need to go. This is a highly physical role, with lots of lifting, carrying, and moving luggage in and out of aircraft holds to strict timelines
Your work will include:
Loading and unloading passenger luggage and air cargo
Sorting and transferring baggage safely and efficiently
Operating equipment like trolleys, dollies, and conveyor systems
Reporting issues or equipment faults promptly
Representing the airline and Star with professionalism at all times
We’re looking for someone who is physically fit, has strong situational awareness, and can thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. To succeed, you’ll need to be reliable, adaptable, and committed to safety while keeping a positive and proactive attitude.
Skills and Experiences:
The ideal candidate:
- A valid Australian driver licence
- A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) - or ability to obtain one
- Awareness of the importance in achieving on time performance goals in an efficient and safe manner
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Strong ability to multi-task, priorities and meet deadlines
- Customer focus to deliver exceptional service
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations
- Able to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Highly personable and able to communicate and influence a diverse range of stakeholders
- Manual Handling procedures
- Conflict resolution skills
- Proficient in report writing, in plain and clear English
- Intermediate skills for Microsoft Office Suite
The successful applicant will need to be available to commence employment on the 3rd of November 2025.
