Analyst – Real Estate Valuation Services (Brisbane)

Companies require reliable real estate valuations for all manner of reasons including to underpin transactions, resolve shareholder disputes, to inform investment analysis and business cases, and to solve various tax, accounting, and financial reporting challenges.

The Real Estate Valuation Services team within our national Valuation Services business provides robust valuations of land and buildings for public, corporate and government clients across a broad range of asset classes (locally and globally) for multiple purposes including financial reporting, tax, and stamp duty, pre and post transaction and audit support.

Your Opportunity – Analyst to Executive

We are expanding our Real Estate Valuation Services team in the national markets, with opportunities for early career Valuations professionals to join our Brisbane team. In this role you will:

  • Prepare real estate valuations, either as standalone projects or as part of wider engagements across a broad range of sectors.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative information on markets, companies, industries, and transactions to identify key performance metrics and value drivers.
  • Think critically, identify issues, and propose strategies related to the advice being provided.
  • Review and interpret financial models for investment property and development projects.
  • Identify relevant information to prepare clear and concise valuation reports, detailing the commercial rationale that supports the valuation judgments you have established.
  • Provide critical support to the Audit universe, contributing to the stability of the financial system.
  • Maintain existing data bases, build bespoke solutions, and implement innovative ways in which to analyse and present information and identify trends.

Your day-to-day will see you exposed to some of the most significant assets in Australia, and the Landlords that manage them. You will quickly grasp the variances in valuation techniques across the asset classes, including traditional institutional investment, development, and operational real estate.

Our team sit within our Deal Advisory and Infrastructure group and has extensive experience in providing valuation advice in relation to transactions, reorganisations, disputes, litigations, financial reporting, restructurings, and funds.

  • You have an interest or experience in delivering real estate valuation advice across a range of sectors (i.e., commercial, industrial, retail, rural or residential developments).
  • You love to investigate and tell stories with information.
  • You are naturally inquisitive, display professional scepticism, and are not afraid to explore new ways of thinking and analysis, whilst maintaining the integrity of the Valuation process.
  • You have an acumen for real estate, thrive in a team environment, and have a passion for the detail. You display a proactive attitude towards accuracy and deadlines.
  • You are a clear communicator.

Your Experience

  • You possess (or be on track to complete) a bachelor’s degree in Property, Valuation, or a related field, displaying a tangible path to Certified Practising Valuer status.
  • Experiences or a strong interest in real estate valuation, with an understanding of the various property types and market trends.
  • Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative) and report writing skills.
  • Experience in excel-based financial assessment and advantageous if you have financial modelling capabilities, or experience in Estate Master Development Feasibility.
  • Ability to build robust relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple deliverables.
  • Recent and relevant experience working in a real estate consultancy or valuation firm (or equivalent) would be considered favourably, however is not essential.
