Analyst/Sr. Analyst - Finance Global Data – Purchase To Pay
SAP Data Management:
The SAP Data Management Group manages the implementation of complex projects related to the Lilly single global instance of SAP, as wells as other systems and processes that connect to SAP. This team supports all business units and divisions of the corporation. Projects include the integration of new plant sites, changes related to logistics, acquisitions, divestitures, system upgrades, and integration of new technology for purpose of automation or meeting external requirements. Team members include global process owners, subject matter experts, master data experts, and other support roles who help manage the end-to-end integration. This group also provides production support and master data governance. The SAP Data Management Group works in close partnership with the Information Technology team in support of all initiatives.
Purpose of the Position:
Master Data Governance is essential to the successful use of SAP at Eli Lilly and Company. Without clean, accurate, relevant, and consistent master data, SAP cannot be leveraged to its full potential.
The Finance Global Data Analyst works as a member of the Master Data Management (MDM) team to support Purchase To Pay business processes within SAP. The Global Data Analyst provides detailed knowledge and assistance to Global Business Solution centers (GBS), affiliates, sites, and outsourced partners to ensure understanding of the data and changes needed to support everyday business. Specifically, the GDA implements and executes the master data governance strategy, implements projects, and provides day-to-day production support to the user community.
Key responsibilities include:
Implement Master Data Governance
Provide cross-functional and geographic perspectives on data governance
Provide leadership and suggestions for proactive data auditing and lifecycle management
Implement data quality metrics and help interpret any trends on data quality within their functional area / geography
Monitor business conformity to governance rules and policies
Drive the completion of assigned data auditing tasks
Develop consistent procedures, processes, and tools across Master Data Management
Protect the integrity and accuracy of data to be loaded into the SAP system
Articulate the impact to master data of IT design, business processes, & end user transactions
Implements Projects
Partner with IT and SME resources to represent MDM and identify and resolve data and design gaps
Lead local contacts thru Data Mapping, Discovery, and Transformation
Leverage technical expertise to Load and Verify master data
Apply MDM governance rules and concepts to project work
User Education
Provide coaching and detailed knowledge transfer to key business partners
Deliver training to educate local data analysts, business process owners, and stakeholders on data quality and data governance
Develop and refine global data documentation as needed: SOPs, Transaction Aids, Job Aids, etc
Support End-User Requests
Provide timely expert support to GBS’s, affiliates, sites, and outsourced business partners by performing manual entry and mass loads of requested data into the SAP Production environment
Cross-train and share daily production support workload with other global data analysts
Collaborate with Business Subject Matter Experts and IT to resolve business problems
Basic Qualifications:
A successful candidate is detail-oriented, quality-conscious, and demonstrates a curious and inquisitive nature in their professional work and also has:
A minimum of 5 years working with SAP / S4 Hana
Previous experience with SAP Purchase to Pay master data
At least 3 years Lilly or industry experience in supply chain, finance or data management
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
Additional Skills / Preferences:
DGIM application specific training and SAP data model and business knowledge
Previous SAP implementation experience
Knowledge of Purchase To Pay SAP data design
Strong understanding of downstream business impact of data fields and integration with other SAP modules
Demonstrated ability to map, cleanse, and discover SAP master data through project work
Previous experience loading data with Precisely (WinShuttle) software
Previous experience creating queries and reports in SAP to mine data from the system
Experience using Excel functionality such as V-lookup
Ability to triage and analyze ambiguous issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work as a member of global cross-functional business and IT teams
Demonstrated ability to manage internal customer relationships
Strong ability to influence others
Willingness to follow and enforce global, cross-functional processes and standards
Ability to work in teams or independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and implement mitigating steps to keep projects on schedule to meet deadlines
Multi-lingual a plus
Additional Information:
Work shift: Full time, normal work shift
Due to the nature of the support activities, some overtime and/or “off hours” effort may be required during peak business times
Some international travel may be required
