LABTEC provides a range of testing and laboratory services including independent analysis of agrichemicals, veterinary medicines, nicotine in vaping products and methamphetamine in environmental samples.

About the Role
LABTEC is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our team in Auckland and provide technical and scientific support for a diverse range of testing capabilities and R&D work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality control - adhere to all quality control requirements
  • Continuous improvement – plan and perform method development and validation for new methods and products
  • Preparation and analysis - prepare samples for analysis using appropriate analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, MP-AES, GC-FID or XRF
  • Client services – approve results and finalise client reports ensuring high quality results, accurate information and deadlines are met
  • All documentation is completed accurately
  • Monitor instrument performance and maintenance
  • Actively engage with Workplace Health, Safety & Environment procedures
Skills and Experiences:
About You

The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in an ISO or GMP laboratory
  • A minimum of BSc in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or related subject
  • Experience with wet chemical analysis
  • Hands on experience with Instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, MP-AES, XRF
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to meet tight deadlines & work under pressure
  • Be reliable & self-motivated
  • Be a team player
  • Understanding of ISO 17025 and IANZ criteria
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemical safety
  • Knowledge of Veterinary Medicine/Agricultural Chemicals sector
