Satair, an Airbus Services company, is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Application Architect to join our award winning digital customer and partner experience team.

The position is located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What the job is …

In alignment with the Airbus Solution Architect framework (Functional Architect and Application Architect), this critical role will provide the necessary in-depth technical expertise, specifically bridging the gap between our Enterprise and Solution Architecture and the practical implementation of our applications.

How you will contribute to the team

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our application architecture is robust, scalable, and adheres to all best practices, legal, data, and security requirements. This is a highly technical, non-coding role where your ability to read, understand, and guide development is paramount to our success.

Core Responsibilities
The Technical/Application Architect will be primarily responsible for the technical integrity and quality of our application implementations, including:

• Architectural oversight and quality assurance:

  • Act as the architectural authority within development projects, ensuring all implementation and development structures follow defined architecture best practices, legal mandates, data governance, and security requirements.

  • Adhere to our established Enterprise and Solution Architecture (C2/Container level) and be responsible for defining the application's specific Component Architecture (C3/Component level).
    
    

• Project lifecycle engagement: Run with projects from an architectural perspective, guiding development partners to design and maintain the specific Application Architecture throughout the development lifecycle.
  
  

• Release management & strategy: Analyze new application releases, assessing their value and benefits, and defining the necessary changes and technical steps required for successful upgrades and implementation.
  
  

• DevOps and monitoring: Oversee high-level monitoring and application stability as part of the DevOps process for the application portfolio to ensure system performance, security and scalability of our growing business needs .
  
  

• Application & process stewardship (Open Questions/Potential Scope): Potential ownership responsibilities for key areas such as the Application Owner (SAP CC) and ARD (Application Release Document) ownership, providing technical guidance and accountability.

Required Skills and Experience
We are seeking a candidate who possesses deep technical knowledge and architectural maturity, even if they do not perform hands-on coding:

• Architectural Mindset: Proven experience in translating high-level architecture into actionable, detailed application design and providing architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical specifications.
  
  

• Development Comprehension: Crucially, the ability to read and thoroughly understand code (while not being required to write any). You must be able to assess technical quality and adherence to standards.
  
  

• Hands-on Technology Knowledge (Preferably):

  • Familiarity with modern front-end and e-commerce technologies (e.g., Nuxt.js or similar JavaScript frameworks, SAP Cloud Commerce, SAP4Hana integrations, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of cloud-native design patterns, including containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless compute. Demonstrable experience with designing applications for cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, SAP BTP).

  • Thorough knowledge of APIs and API Designing best practices (REST, SOAP, Microservices, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and automation within the development pipeline.
