Application Technologist I (8 Months Contract, Part Time)

Sensient Technologies New Zealand, is a fast growing business unit within the Sensient Asia-Pacific Group. We provide quality food ingredients to our customers on a world-wide basis, and are highly successful through our attention to customer service, creative technological, innovation and product quality. We are currently seeking a result driven candidate with passion for product development. The candidate should drive application development and innovative formulation, process and evaluation in a variety of product segments. Additionally, the job will require attention to detail and ability to learn new skills.

You will thrive being part of a team of motivated people, be collaborative, however also comfortable working alone. Customer, quality and entrepreneurial focus are essential in this position. This is a part time position, requires 24 hours work hours per week.

What you will do:

• Work on new product ideas and customer requirements using our portfolio of flavours, colours and natural extracts in a variety of food segments
• Work closely with cross functional teams to drive customer briefs
• Develop solutions for projects, including the ability to diagnose issues and communicate the results to customers
• Innovation, development and preparation of prototypes for presentation to key customers
• Lead production and scale up trials
• Support the sales team and join customer presentations and innovation work shops
• Responsible to constantly seek ways and methods to better serve our customers

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in food technology, food science or equivalent education
• 1-2 years of experience in the food industry
• Direct experience in product development is highly desired however not essential
