Overview
Description of the Role
We are looking for a hardworking, safety-focused Applicator 1 / Class 3 Driver (Air Brakes) or Class 1 Driver to join our growing team. This position combines driving responsibilities with hands-on field work, helping crews safely and efficiently place lightweight concrete. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity on every project.
Primary Responsibilities
- Application of Gypcrete and lightweight concrete products
- Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC)
- Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Operating and maintaining equipment used for material placement
- Assisting with job site setup and teardown
- Working with the crew to safely and efficiently place lightweight concrete
- Spotting and assisting with equipment positioning and operation
- General construction labor duties as required
Driving & Transportation Responsibilities
- Operate Class 3 (Air Brake Endorsement) or Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Secure cargo and equipment according to regulations and company standards
- Navigate various road, weather, and site conditions safely
- Maintain accurate vehicle inspection records
- Follow all transportation laws, company policies, and safety procedures
Skilled Labour Duties
- Perform basic construction, maintenance, and repair work
- Follow established safety rules and regulations
- Set up and break down work areas
- Operate power and hand tools
- Load and unload materials, hoses, and equipment
- Perform site cleanup and housekeeping duties
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Driver License with Air Brake Endorsement or Class 1 Driver License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous construction, concrete, flooring, or skilled labor experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Knowledge of basic construction and maintenance techniques
- Ability to safely operate power and hand tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Physical Requirements
- Physical fitness and strength to handle hoses, tools, and heavy equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day
