Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in Pain Management to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will help improve patient quality of life through tailored pain management strategies, including medication administration, procedural interventions, and patient education. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on pain evaluation, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized pain management plans utilizing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex pain conditions.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on pain management options, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and safety precautions.
  • Engage in clinical research activities or quality improvement initiatives related to pain management practices when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Current APRN licensure with active unrestricted DEA license.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
  • Familiarity with advanced procedures such as spinal taps, catheterization techniques, IV infusion therapy, and suturing is preferred.
  • Critical care experience or hospital-based practice background strongly valued; experience with acute pain management protocols essential.
  • Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation skills necessary for effective patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
