The Role

Are you an experienced APS 6 Procurement Officer looking for a non-ongoing, temporary or permanent transfer in the new year?

Do you have government procurement experience and based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide? If you answered yes to these questions, then this role may the role for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and management of Quality Assurance and governance activities through the development and maintenance of a comprehensive procurement compliance reporting frameworks and associated processes
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to procurement policies and legislation.
  • Provide sound expert advice on procurement compliance, reporting and governance to ensure quality and compliance with associated legislation, regulations, policies and procedures ensuring a commitment to value for money and timely delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of improved procurement controls and processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing to the development and implementation of the Compliance Management Framework.

Do You Have?

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance, governance and reporting, essential to ensuring compliance and reporting of organisational adherence to established standards and methodologies.
  • Experience in governance management, change control and quality management within a complex environment is essential.
  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage workload to ensure quality and timely advice, efficient and effective decisions based on professional judgement and evaluating risks in the context of a busy and changing environment.
  • Sound knowledge in the application of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and connected policies, including a working knowledge of the Commonwealth Contracting Suite (CCS), the use of procurement panels, sound application of the Value for Money (VFM) principles and demonstrated experience (or the ability to acquire) advising and assisting with P2P data entry with internal customers for new procurements and contract variations.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of procurement and contract management advice and support to a diverse range of stakeholders including the ability to work effectively and efficiently across a diverse range of functions the Procurement and Contracts Team.
  • Well-developed writing and storytelling skills, important for supporting the development of clear, concise, and influential briefing materials, advice, and responses to questions on notice, tailored to the needs of various audiences including Austrade Senior Executive and Senate Estimates hearings.
  • Well-developed stakeholder and communication skills with experience implementing stakeholder engagement plans and maintaining effective communication channels across diverse groups to ensure procurement alignment and consistency.
