Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design: Develop design concepts based on client requirements, project goals, and site conditions.
- Drafting and Modeling: Create detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, and renderings using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
- Collaboration: Work closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure designs meet expectations and comply with regulations.
- Site Analysis: Conduct site visits and analyze environmental, zoning, and building code considerations.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare construction documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into designs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to local Australian building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Project Coordination: Oversee design stages from initial concept through to completion, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Design.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA) is a plus.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in architectural design or a related field.
- Proven portfolio showcasing past projects across various scales and types.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of construction materials and methods.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Work Environment
