Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, managing distributor relationships, and expanding market presence in the assigned territory for the company’s liquor or distillery products. The role requires strategic planning, achieving sales targets, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations while fostering strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets in the assigned area.
- Identify new market opportunities and plan market penetration initiatives.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to achieve goals.
- Distributor and Retailer Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Ensure timely product delivery, inventory management, and proper shelf visibility.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with channel partners.
- Market Development:
- Identify and onboard new distributors, retailers, or key accounts in the territory.
- Drive brand awareness through promotional campaigns, events, and in-store activities.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about competitor products, pricing, and market trends.
- Team Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve sales targets.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to sales staff.
- Monitor team activities, ensuring alignment with company policies and goals.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local and national liquor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and distributor agreements.
- Prepare and submit periodic sales and market analysis reports to senior management.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Address customer concerns and provide solutions to maintain satisfaction.
- Implement customer loyalty programs to increase brand retention.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in sales, preferably in the liquor, beverage, or FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the liquor/distillery market and its distribution channels.
- Familiarity with local and national regulations governing the liquor industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in sales CRM software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Strategic thinking with problem-solving capabilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
Schedule:
- Day shift
Supplemental Pay:
- Yearly bonus
