Location: Christchurch/Upper South

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, however not limited to:

  • Achieve sales targets and activity levels for assigned territory and products, namely SenseHub dairy monitoring and automation
  • Develop and implement territory plans to achieve sales targets, regularly revising activity against achievement
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and clients e.g. Farmers, Business Managers, Farm Managers, veterinarians, etc
  • Utilize Technical Advisors within territory to influence customers and clients to assist in delivery of technical messaging and drive sales
  • Leverage strong business relationships to deliver business results
  • Identify and participate in all promotions with the goal of maximizing sales
  • Provide technical and sales training activities to distributors/partners to ensure proper messaging is being transferred to the end user
  • Ensure product complaint investigation, pricing queries, compliance issues and follow up requests are executed appropriately and within required timelines
  • Provide corporate sales presentations to relevant consumer groups, customers & distributors
  • Regularly analyze customer data to assist with territory, customer and pre-call planning, and the identification and targeting of high value customers
  • Record customer interactions within CRM systems to inform next call objectives, and to assist in building a single view of the customer to inform marketing strategy and tactics
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, as well as a broader understanding of Animal Health issues
  • Maintain an active interest in improving selling skills, including company selling programs and key account management principals
  • Ensure effective communication across the sales, technical and after service teams, share knowledge and participate positively in sales team meetings and marketing-initiated forums
  • Monitor competitor activity, developing action plans to counteract within territory
  • Keep Regional Sales Lead informed of competitor activity via regular reporting

What You Must have

  • Sales - this role requires experience and skill in rural sales, experience within the dairy sector would be an advantage.
  • Communication skills – this role requires the communication of complex technical ideas to a range of audiences from farmhands through to multi-million-dollar business owners and corporate accounts.
  • Customer servicing - the role requires an excellent and demonstrable commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs. .
  • Influence - in order to achieve their objectives, the job holder will need to demonstrate an ability to work with and influence a number of others they have no line management responsibility for. This includes internal staff and external parties (contractors, other organizations that can provide referrals).
  • Time management - this role will require excellent time management, as the position holder seeks to manage demands from customers in geographically diverse parts of their region.
  • Technical expertise -to demonstrate some understanding of electronics, mechanical engineering, and, as well as having high levels of computer literacy will be a fast learner of complex software as they are applied to an animal management system. A working knowledge of dairy sheds and animal behavior will be advantageous as will a familiarity with broadband solutions and on farm networking.
