The Arc Tampa Bay, our areas largest provider of services to people with intellectual disabilities, is seeking an experienced artist to assist at our Harborside Studios in beautiful downtown Safety Harbor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

• Prepare, implement, demonstrate and instruct a variety of arts programs and mediums.
• Provide consumers with appropriate guidance and assistance to insure physical and emotional well being.
• Adhere to all HARBORSIDE STUDIOS/Arc TB policies and procedures.
• Supervise and transport ADT participants to outings, field trips, pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Encourage and reinforce all aspect of normalization.
• Assist Program Director and Service Coordinator and in assuring compliance with relevant APD, AHCA and ADT standards.
• Help create an atmosphere promoting participation in the arts and arts related activities.
• Record and submit ADT attendance records in timely manner.
• Route all pertinent information to Program Director in timely manner
• Attend necessary committee meetings and training sessions as assigned by Program Director.
• Assist with HARBORSIDE STUDIOS Open House each third Friday evening of each month in Safety Harbor, FL.
• Assist ADT participants to assemble for activities in accordance with established activity plan.
• Insure that all information concerning consumers and their families remain confidential and secure.
• Temporarily perform routing duties of Program Director in their absence.
• Assist ADT participants with personal care needs to maintain consumer’s independence and self esteem.
• Assist consumers during lunch periods and break times.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of classroom and related areas.
• Perform clerical tasks (photocopying, filing, and disbursing information) as requested.
• Insure consumer participation in all activities through discussion and cooperation.
• Attend and acquire certification in all courses and training required by HARBORSIDE STUDIOS/ARC standards and requirements.
• Transport program participants as needed using company van.

Job Type: Full-time

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Art Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Visual arts painting: 1 year (Preferred)
• ceramics: 1 year (Preferred)
• drawing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Working with people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)
• clay: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Required)

License/Certification:

• Florida Driver's License (Required)
