We’re looking for an experienced Asphalt & Concrete Labourer to join our maintenance team based in Auckland.
You'll support the work across our maintenance contracts and wider projects for the Auckland Region. You must have strong exposure in asphalt operations, with good understanding of asphalt techniques and procedures as part of road surfacing. In addition, you will be a skilled concreter with familiarity in placing and finishing. If you're a skilled all-rounder, this would be ideal.
In addition to the above, you'll:
- Correctly distribute asphalt, by shovelling stone chips, compacting and spreading of hot asphalt.
- Safely tripping tail-gate levers to discharge hot-mix asphalt into paving machines.
- Complete formwork and asphalt reinstatement duties for footpaths, driveways, kerbs, panel replacement and patches in carriageways.
- Conduct manual mixing, placing and finishing of concrete.
- Use handheld equipment and operate the tail gate levels to discharge hot mix.
- Confidently operate a concrete saw and civil equipment.
- Provide input into tailgate for risk management processes.
- Abide to health and safety procedures when dealing with bitumen.
- Conduct general labourer duties in all forms to ensure completion of work.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years in Asphalt and Concrete operations in a civil construction setting.
- Must hold 3 years working on reinstatement and rehab roading project work.
- Must be able to conduct concrete finishing.
- Must be competent using a Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) / Genny4 Locator.
- Hold strong experience in concrete placing and formwork duties.
- Must have knowledge of locating and detecting, underground services.
The official title for this role will be General Worker. This role is a Full Time, Permanent position guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week. The wage ranges from $25.85 to $35.00 per hour pending on experience.
